Agora Energiewende
The world’s energy systems are changing. Renewable energy has moved from a niche technology to broad-scale adoption in many countries around the globe. Policy makers in many countries are struggling with the technical, economic, and political complexities of the transformation. Understanding these processes and challenges is essential for taking political decisions and ensuring a smooth transition to a clean energy system.
This is where Agora Energiewende and Agora Industry help: we develop evidence-based strategies for ensuring the success of the clean energy transitions in Europe and around the globe. As independent and non-partisan think tanks we share cutting edge, policy-relevant research knowledge with stakeholders in the worlds of politics, business, academia, and NGOs.
Hydrogen produced from renewable energy and its derivatives are the missing links to achieving net zero. These technologies can enable a fully renewable energy system and support the path towards climate neutrality for various applications for which direct electrification with renewables is not an option. There are however many challenges in ramping up the hydrogen economy. With projects in Latin America, Africa and the EU Agora’s Hydrogen team works across geographies to address these unique regional challenges.
